Position Description
Job Title: Bilingual Ecumenical Kitchen Coordinator
FSLA: Non- Exempt
Position Type: Part Time; 25 hours/week
Working Days/ Hours: Monday- Friday; additional hours may be required for shopping/planning.
Department/ Group: Community Food Services
Accountability: Reports to Community Food Services Administrator
Location: Ecumenical Kitchen- Allentown
Travel Required: Regional
Summary
This position involves coordinating volunteers for a public lunch program. The position also coordinates food preparation and acquiring food donations from a variety of resources.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate all food donations, purchases and all Kitchen supplies.
- Plan nutritious meals using donated and purchased food supplies.
- Supervise the daily maintenance of the Kitchen and work collaboratively with host parish; communicate building maintenance issues to Administrative Office.
- Recruit and supervise Kitchen staff and volunteers.
- Coordinate programming needs and schedules to ensure positive and appropriate interaction between participants and Kitchen volunteers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Educational Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Due to the nature and mission of the Catholic Church, all employees are bound to exhibit respect for the teachings and discipline of the Church in regard to matters of faith and morals.
- Must be willing to work within the guidelines of the Catholic Charities' mission and the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
- Experience working with and recruiting volunteers is helpful.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- High proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.

Working Conditions
- Must be willing/able to drive anywhere within the 5 counties of the Diocese of Allentown.
- Must demonstrate respect and professionalism in all interactions with staff, clients, volunteers and donors.
- Prior to start date, all Safe Environment Clearances must be received and reviewed, including FBI fingerprints, Pennsylvania State Police and Pennsylvania Department of Health and Human Services clearances. All clearances must be renewed in accordance with Diocese of Allentown and/or Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for duration of employment.
- Prior to start date, completion of Protecting God's Children Training (PGC) and monthly online bulletins, as well as any recertification, for the duration of employment.
- Any additional requirements implemented by the Diocese of Allentown, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or specific grantors, for the duration of employment.
