About the role:
Anglicare have a great opportunity for a Counsellor to join our Men’s Behaviour Change Program (MBCP) based in Parramatta. In this role you will be undertaking a range of Counselling and Group work services associated with the Men's Behaviour Change Program which aim to increase the well-being and safety of women and children.
This role is Full Time Maximum Term, till 30th June 2026 with a view to extend pending further funding.
Key Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Ensure the best possible outcome for clients is achieved by holding men accountable for their use of violence and supporting them to change their behaviour, establishing strong network links within local area in order to provide strong external referral pathways
- Ensure the MBCP service is well known in the community by participating in developing resources that promote and advertise the service to clients, local forums and other community organisations
- Ensure individual needs of clients are met by providing a case plan that is developed with the client, is clearly defined and with achievable outcomes
- Ensure a full client caseload is maintained by working within funding guideline and program targets
- Ensure documentation meets organisational, legislative and funding requirements by completing and maintaining appropriate client documentation and statistical information
About you:
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or Counselling or related behavioural sciences
- NSW Drivers Licence
- Registered with appropriate body: e.g.: PACFA for counselling or working towards registration
- Graduate Certificate in Men’s Behavioural Change Interventions or willing to enrol and obtain the Certification. (Anglicare is willing to support the successful candidate during the process of obtaining the Certification)
- Training and clinical experience in working with perpetrators of domestic and family violence – preferred but not essential.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Previous demonstrated experience in assessment and counselling
- Previous experience in group facilitation
