The Opportunity Alliance is looking for a Application Administrator to join our Data team.
The Application Administrator is both a technical and forward-facing position for the Data and Information Technology (IT) departments, responsible for supporting, developing, and maintaining database systems for the Agency. This position contributes to the accomplishment of the Agency’s mission through the implementation, development, and maintenance of database resources and backend systems.
This position attends weekly Data, Operations, and/or Information Technology (IT) briefings with agency staff and leadership.
Work is performed, reviewed, and evaluated under the supervision of the Vice President of Operations.
This position will work to maintain essential system infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, and applications. Take responsibility for projects and solutions within the larger business initiative. Enable faster and smarter business processes and develop analytics for meaningful insights. Work with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position contributes to the achievement of Agency mission through some or all of the following core accountabilities:
Achieves special annual Agency goals negotiated with the direct supervisor each year. Perform server administration tasks (ex: user/group, security permissions, group policies, print services); research event-log warnings and errors; and monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlessly. Monitor data-center health using existing management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers when needed. Contributes to the achievement of positive outcome results through some or all of the following:
Work with program staff, Human Resources, and Finance to optimize and improve system functions to support the work of the agency. Ensures optimum operation of the Agency systems including development, implementation, administration, and maintenance of policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the agency databases. Implements data models, database designs, data access and table maintenance codes. Resolved database performance and capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
Project management and coordination of Finance and HR database systems, including Accounting, Human Resource and Payroll systems, including integration through automation.
Develops new applications using appropriate Agency software from information provided by end users according to architecture approved by or developed by Operations.
Ensures the safety and security of Agency staff and client information through the maintenance of user accounts and permissions, source code tracking, and monitoring of security logs.
Develops automation tools as directed by the Vice President of Operations.
Provides assistance in the training of users on database-type automation to make them more proficient.
Develops and maintains training materials and documentation of database applications developed internally.
Research resources and recommend modifications that would improve Agency database applications efficiency and capacity.
Maintains, monitors, and modifies applications designed and provision of updates as requested by users and approved by the VP of Operations.
The pay range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000.
