SENIOR SAFETY ANALYST

Key Responsibilities:
- Support responses to Congress, Inspector General, Government Accountability Office, media and other inquires related to operational safety.
- Engage in Force Risk Reduction (FR2) (Force Safety and Occupational Health data warehouse) reporting and dashboard requirements gathering, documentation and analysis, which includes documenting use cases, support and suggest improvements to the FR2 data warehouse, become “fluent” in FR2.
- Conduct analysis of the integrated safety and health information in FR2 and other available data of various sizes to identify information that can be used to reduce mishaps and mitigate risks.
- Use a firm command of language and presentation techniques in order to relate results of findings (statistical or otherwise) at the highest levels and in layman's terms the client will understand and be able to take action. Support compilation of SOH and mishap information and data, draft briefings and papers, and other documents as requested on SOH topics for Senior DoD leaders.
- Support FSOH collaboration with the DoD acquisition community to improve readiness and availability of military and civilian workforce through acquisition policies, procedures, standards for all systems (aviation and weapon systems and human integration systems) to address safety requirements
- Support FSOH with data driven recommendations, for example, to advocate for innovative technological solutions with direct benefit and contribution to the Department’s mishap reduction goals
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS in field that supports the position description, plus at least 8 years of directly related experience and subject matter knowledge of DoD operational safety/DoD mishap data and information/data analysis
- Excellent communications, organization, and presentation skills with all levels of staff throughout the DoD
- Experience in providing project management support, to include demonstrated writing and briefing skills
- Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Share Point)
- Proven ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical professionals
- Experience establishing and maintaining working relationships with multi-disciplinary professionals at leadership and staff levels both within and outside the organization
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and with a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- MA/MS in supporting field.
- Recent experience (past three years) working as a DoD contractor.
- Experience working with Senior civilian and Service member leaders in the Pentagon or similar “joint” environment
