This role presents a unique career opportunity and stepping-stone for our frontline Carer workforce.
A unique and career-defining new role within the industry, our Care Champion will have a dedicated focus on leading and providing person-centred care for our residents.
Ideally suited to passionate individuals with a Certificate III (Individual Support), you will work across a group of residents and their families to ensure they experience exceptional resident care.
As a Care Champion you will not have direct reports, but you would indirectly lead other Personal Care workers within your home. You may also be required to help deliver care to residence to assist other personal care workers. You would be an important member of our team, playing a vital role in delivering the best care to our residents and champion Bolton Clarke’s purpose in helping people live a life of fulfillment each and every day.
The Role
- Part time roles located at Darlington Aged Care, Banora Point.
- Act as a frontline advocate for a group of residents. You will take ownership of residents’ wellbeing and care by maintaining a schedule of check-ins to ensure all their needs are met.
- Understand each resident you care for as an individual with unique needs and encourage regular feedback (formal and informal)
- Proactively problem solve and attend to gaps in resident needs through collaboration and teamwork. Communicate and work with the care team to ensure consistent and high-quality resident care and support.
- Demonstrate the Bolton Clarke Values-in-practice to foster a culture of kindness, curiosity and great care
- To be the day-to-day relationship link for families, keeping them up to date with the care and wellbeing needs of the resident.
- Build strong and inclusive relationships by communicating effectively with residents, families, and staff team members.
Requirements
- Strong and clear verbal communication skills
- Good care knowledge
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of compliance requirements
- Good systems knowledge and IT skills
- All mandatory learning up to date
- Team coordination or coaching skills (desirable)
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent (required)
- COVID and Booster Certificate (mandatory)

To be successful, you will have:
- Cert III in Aged Care or Individual Support
- Experience in care role highly regarded
- Valid working rights in Australia (Passport, Birth Certificate etc)
- NDIS Worker Check (or willingness to obtain)
- 2023 Flu vaccinations (or willingness to obtain)
- Evidence of Covid-19 vaccinations in line with current requirements
