Bilingual Career Center Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY
The Bilingual Career Center Specialist is responsible for providing services to Spanish speaking clients and organizing and participating in Hispanic related events, all to positively impact the GoodwillSR Mission of Changing Lives Through the Power of Work. The Bilingual Career Center Specialist coaches Hispanic clients on resume development, interview, and job search skills and provides access to resources in the community. This position also facilitates workshops in English, updates the case management system, supports hiring events, job board postings, and other community events, both onsite and offsite, and conducts outreach calls to all clients to promote events and job placement services. The team member must be willing to learn new applications, skills, and techniques as services evolve to meet community needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Greets and engages all visitors to the center in English and Spanish, if applicable.
- Develops and maintains relationships with Hispanic community partners and updates community partner information in the database system.
- Assists clients with various tasks, including basic computer support, templates for resume creation, and information on available job openings.
- Promotes hiring events, workshops, free tax preparation, and participation in special programs.
- Records clients activity in case management system.
- Develops and promotes Hispanic initiatives and opportunities in community.
- Refers clients to internal and external programs and resources, as appropriate.
- Conducts client outreach calls to promote events and job placement services.
- Facilitates all workshops offered in the career center, including virtual facilitation.
- Assists with various program and events both onsite, offsite, and virtually.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in, Education, Business, or a related field; preferred.
- 2 years’ experience in a career services-related field.
- Bilingual Spanish; required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITIES
- Presentation and customer service skills.
- Experience conducting workshops, organizing events, etc.
- Proficiency in the use of and the ability to instruct clients in Microsoft Suite products as well as web-based applications.
- Knowledge of standard, modern job seeking skills such as online applications, resumes, general job search skills, networking, etc.
- Possess and display excellent analytical, critical thinking, organizational, interpersonal, leadership, and verbal and written communications skills.
- Bilingual Spanish, written and oral, is required
