- 32 hours per week (Fri - Mon 2 - 10)
- The pay rate range for this position is $17.00 - $18.69 per hour depending on years of prior experience with NYS OPWDD programs.
Requirements for this position are:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 year experience supporting people with Autism
- Prior experience assisting persons with developmental disabilities preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid New York State Driver’s license required
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide ongoing protective oversight to individuals living in the residence.
- Implementation of Residential Habilitation Plans.
- Implement innovative Behavior Support Plans with effectiveness and efficiency ensuring that accurate data is being collected to measure each person’s progress.
- Provide assistance and instruction to each individual in basic activities of daily living.
- Provide training and support for each individual in accordance with the individual program plan.
- Provide assistance and instruction to each individual in basic activities of daily living which could include two person lift of individuals where necessary
- Successful completion of the AMAP course and annual recertification for administration purposes.
- Successful completion of the Life’s WORC Autism Training Workshop.
- Scheduling flexibility. May be required to work beyond the normal shift.
- Drive agency vans that are equipped with GPS monitoring systems and demonstrate safe driving practices. Ensure cleanliness of vehicles. Maintain vehicle logs.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment. Proper use and maintenance of household equipment and appliances.
