Gateway has an exciting full-time job opportunity to work as a Foster Parenting Success Coach. This position gives the right candidate the opportunity to work with and provide support to foster parents to change the lives of therapeutic foster children placed in their homes. This will be done by providing foster parents the coaching and assistance they need and desire to increase the likelihood that the children in their care achieve success. Coaching will address increasing the skill level of the foster parents to be competent in managing behaviors arising from the children's trauma responses. For this position, Gateway is seeking someone who has advanced clinical knowledge and experience of trauma in foster care. The position is not office-based as the work is done in the community, specifically in the homes of Gateway foster parents. If you have an interest in coaching and teaching adult learners, this is the right fit for you. As a newly hired success coach, you will be provided with the training needed to complement the skills you already have including being trained as a Trauma Systems Therapy expert and trainer as well as learning coaching skills as taught and applied by the International Coaching Federation in order to meet the needs of Gateway foster parents. This staff member will be equipped to provide instruction and tools that help foster parents understand child behavioral symptoms and increase knowledge of trauma and its impact as they provide support to foster parents during the initial months of placement of a child in their home. This position may at times provide training in the community as well. The success coach will teach the defined curriculum to foster parents and take part in a weekly multidisciplinary team meeting to discuss the needs of the foster parents and children being served through the program. This position will also require taking part in an on-call rotation.

Must have a bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field with at least 2 years of child welfare experience preferred (not including internships). A Master’s degree in social work or counseling and being license eligible is highly preferred. Prior experience with Trauma Systems Therapy or coaching experience is preferred. Good written and verbal skills. Advanced clinical knowledge of trauma services and foster care. Proficient with Electronic Health Records, email, and Microsoft Office. Reliable transportation as this position requires regular in-state travel for community-based TST training. Driving record and insurance as required by Gateway’s insurer. Internal applicants must be in good standing.
