Custodian�(Part-Time)
Lumina Hospice and Palliative Care founded as Benton Hospice Service in 1980, is a community-grown nonprofit, that provides compassionate care and support for individuals, families and caregivers facing serious illness or end of life.
Lumina Hospice & Palliative Care (Lumina) is seeking a part-time (.50 FTE/20 hours per week) Custodian to join our team. The Custodian plays a critical role in helping Lumina deliver its mission of providing compassionate care and support to those facing end of life, by keeping the building and grounds clean and neat, in a safe manner that meets company standards.. We have an excellent team of caring individuals committed to our mission by sharing their talents in our non-profit environment.
Qualifications:
- Commitment to serving the needs of the terminally ill.
- High school diploma.
- Current valid Oregon driver's license.
- Have acceptable driving record per Lumina�s requirements.
- Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures.
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or custodial work preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain a clean environment.
- Must have a minimum of two years of experience in a custodial role.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time.
- Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions.
- Background in handling, mixing and using cleaning chemicals.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules as well as OSHA guidelines.
- Ability to accurately read and understand written materials and instructions.
- Ability to prioritize and accomplish work tasks ensuring quality work and maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Must be able to push/pull up to 30 lbs. and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular heights.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in work assignments.
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to confidentiality requirements.
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Shovel snow and clear ice from entrances, when needed.
- Empty trash and replace trash bags.
- Sweep, dust, mop, and strip floors.
- Clean toilets, sinks, mirrors, and office windows.
- Ensures that custodial closet is maintained in a neat and orderly manner � organized, clean, all chemicals are properly labeled, and equipment is in working condition.
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms in a sanitary condition, offices, and common areas.
- Use industrial cleaning equipment to buff and polish floors.
- Handle waste disposal and recycling activities.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and available for use.
- Follow safety procedures while handling cleaning chemicals.
- Empty shred bins.
- Move and lift furniture as needed.
- Polish stainless steel.
- Sweeping floors.
- Washing and disinfecting tables.
- Dusting furniture.
- Transport items to donation sites.
- Pick-up supplies as needed.
- Understands and adheres to all Lumina policies and procedures contained in the Lumina Employee Handbook.
- Contributes to communication, positive work environment, and team effort.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Schedule: Will work 20 hours per week varying days Monday through Friday after hours when office is closed or prior to office opening. May be requested to work other hours as needed.

***Must have full access to an insured vehicle for work with expectation of moderate driving.
