Position Summary: The Behavior Consultant works with the collaboration of a treatment team which may include a Mobile Therapist, Behavior Health Technician, teachers, vocational training counselors, medical providers and especially family members. Parent education and support is essential. We currently have part-time positions available with billable rates between $28.50 and $32.00 hourly.
Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) provide behavioral health treatment to children up to age 21 who have a current DSM or ICD mental health diagnosis and require behavioral support. The services use professional staff and natural supports to create a network of support around an identified child and their family. Services can be rendered in a child’s home, community or school location dependent upon the child and family’s needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Behavior Consultant (Non-Licensed):
Individuals who provide individual services as Behavior Consultant (Non-Licensed) shall meet one of the following:
- Have a certification as BCBA or other graduate-level certification in behavior analysis
- Have a graduate degree in Applied Behavior Analysis
- Have one year of experience providing mental health services AND have a graduate degree with at least 9 credits in psychology, social work, education, or counseling
- Have a graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, counseling or a related field AND completed a clinical / mental health service practicum
Behavior Consultant - Licensed
Licensed psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, clinical social worker, social worker, behavior specialist, certified registered nurse practitioner, or other professional whose scope of practice includes oversight of ABA services.
Behavior Consultant - ABA
Licensed psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, clinical social worker, social worker, behavior specialist, certified registered nurse practitioner, or other professional whose scope of practice includes oversight of ABA services AND one of the following:
- Has BCABA or other undergraduate certification in behavior analysis.
- Has at least one year of full-time experience providing ABA services in addition to 12 credits in ABA from an accredited university.
- Has at least one year of full-time experience providing ABA services under supervision of BCBA or other graduate certification in behavior analysis.
OR Licensed psychologist with at least one year of full-time experience providing ABA services (employees qualifying in this category will be required to complete 40 hours of approved ABA specific training or to furnish documentation of prior completion of such training)
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have access to the audio / visual / verbal technology to provide supervision for the clients and to perform essential job functions
- Must possess the emotional competence to perform essential job functions
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to accept and provide supervision
- Ability to adjust hours to job requirements
- Ability to work independently
- Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
- Must possess valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Must be eligible for PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Clearance, Arrest / Conviction Report and Certification Form, and Act 168 forms.
- Must be able to identify with the agency Mission Statement and support the agency’s core values.

POSITION SPECIFIC CORE COMPETENCIES:

Develop behavior modification programs for each assigned child.

Conduct psychosocial and behavioral assessments and report to team members.

Act as a consultant with team members involved with service provision for client.

Instruct and support parents in implementing behavior modification programs, including empathic responses and logical consequences.

Provide oversight and training to BHT as needed regarding delivery of services.
