Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
The Community Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Reentry services for the Donaldsonville District Reentry Team. Duties require close coordination, collaboration, tracking and monitoring of participants to ensure compliance with service plan including terms of probation. Responsibilities also include working closely with all programs represented within the Donaldsonville District Reentry Team, the Louisiana Department of Corrections, and other partner agencies to ensure program participants are engaged and supported in services that include employment/training, housing, mentoring, and other comprehensive services.
- Collaborate with staff, community resources, jails/prisons, probation and parole staff to identify reentry needs and to coordinate services.
- Develop partnerships and collaborate with community organizations and other agencies to connect individuals with resources and services specific to their reentry needs.
- Assist in the development of individualized reentry service plans.
- Collaborate with education institutions, job development agencies and vocational training programs as indicated by participants reentry plans.
- Provide consultation and technical assistance to stakeholders in order to meet individual reentry needs.
- Develop and implement programs, workshops, activities and events to promote community connection and self-development for participants.
- Develop and facilitate community outreach and recruiting events on as a needed basis.
- Conduct presentations within community as needed. Participate in trainings, team meetings, conferences and related activities.
- Work as part of the regional reentry task force and become familiar with, and adhere to all policies, processes, and procedures.
- Maintain professional knowledge in applicable areas and keep abreast of changes in job-related rules, status, and laws; read and interpret professional literature; attend workshops, meetings, and seminars if applicable.
- Serve as a liaison with staff or community partners as needed.
- Keep the Director of Engagement and Outreach informed of unusual and /or crisis situations as they arise.
- Attend pre-orientation and orientation sessions as needed.
- Complete other work related tasks as assigned or needed.

- Must be able to work occasionally long or extended hours, including weekends.
- Must be able to function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality of all information.
Requirements:
- BA or BS degree preferred
- Minimum of three-years experience in criminal justice, social work, employment counseling, placement, human services, or public administration.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient in operating a computer and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and other social media platforms.
- Must provide own transportation.
- Must be able to clear DMV check.
- Must process valid operator’s license and maintain vehicle registration, liability insurance and vehicle inspection.
- Must be able to receive authorization to provide services in assigned correctional facilities.
- Must be ambulatory.
