POSITION TITLE: Director of Development
STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Chief Development Officer
SALARY: $95,000-$105,000/Year.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Development is a passionate advocate for sexual and reproductive health care and rights who is deeply motivated to help donors reach their philanthropic goals while advancing the mission and vision of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri.
The Director of Development plays a critical role in the growth of fundraising efforts at Planned Parenthood and works collaboratively and strategically to advance the mission of the organization. This key position reports directly to the Chief Development Officer and is primarily responsible for day-to-day management of the Development department, supervision of Institutional Giving, Annual Fund, Special Events, and database oversight. This position works closely with the Finance team, and director and senior team leaders for each of the organization’s four affiliated entities. This position may fulfill the cell phone reimbursement policy requirements.
PRIMARY DUTIES PERFORMED
● In partnership with the CDO, establish and implement the annual development plan and corresponding budget for the areas of the annual fund, institutional giving & grants and special events
● Oversee day-to-day operations of the development team
● Assure sound fiscal operation of development functions and the budget manager, including coordination with PPFA
● Lead analysis and preparation of financial reporting for the senior staff, development team, PPFA and board/committees
● Analyze results of programs and efforts to make informed goals, plans and adjustments to best utilize resources and improve subsequent efforts.
Provide management, supervision, coaching and performance evaluations for:
● Database coordinator
● Institutional giving and grants manager
● Event & stewardship coordinator
● Manage all aspects of the Annual Fund and Direct Response giving (e.g. Give STL Day), including design, content, timeline, segments, and direct mail to ensure coordination of fundraising messages throughout the organization.
● In collaboration with the Director of Major Gift, monitor and support the portfolio management of key staff, including the CEO, CMO, and CDO
● Maintain and oversee database records with all donor transactions and related development material
● Oversee planning and implementation of special events, including managing staff and/or consultants
● Oversee grants management, and work with a grant writer to identify and secure new sources of support, including national foundations
● As needed, update policy & procedure manuals to ensure compliance with PPFA requirements and AFP best practices

QUALIFICATIONS
● Bachelors Degree
● 3-5 years fund development experience
