Program Statement: Catholic Charities has been a steadfast provider of food and shelter to Lorain residents for over 20 years! The St. Elizabeth Center provides a place in central Lorain for persons who are homeless, hungry, or otherwise vulnerable to receive assistance. Today, many faith groups, businesses, civic organizations, and individual volunteers support is what has truly become a multi-purpose center serving the greater Lorain Community.
What you will be doing:
- Plan, develop, analyze and evaluate the delivery of program services within social determinant of health and trauma informed care principles and practices to best meet the needs of the clients.
- Direct and coordinate program activities and functions, utilizing knowledge of site/corporation’s established policies, procedures and practices.
- Ensure operational efficiency through appropriate assignment of cases to staff providing varied complex and noncomplex social services.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland.
- Plan, develop and evaluate the delivery of program services and activities to best meet the needs of the clients.
- Recommend new services and enhancements of programs.
- Responsible for program budget; investigate additional sources of revenue.
- Prepare and/or monitor reports and statistics as needed. Coordinate and monitor programming.
- Provide supervision; prepare work schedules, assign or delegate responsibilities.
- Give work directives, resolve problems and set deadlines for personnel and volunteers to ensure sound operational functioning.
- Recruit volunteers and oversee most desirable use of skills to match program needs. Indirect supervision to volunteers.
- Supervise and train personnel to ensure appropriate service delivery.
- Develop and maintain contacts with peers and administrative personnel within the Catholic Charities’ system and in the broader community for networking, joint planning and action.
- Compile and maintain system reporting information pertaining to client services.
- Maintain relationships with clients/participants which require some degree of judgment in choosing appropriate approaches to problem solving.
- Perform other duties as necessary to accomplish objectives.
Requirements:
- Combination of education and experience normally represented by a Bachelor’s Degree with 5-7 years experience including supervision.
- Must have the ability to relate to a wide variety of people: professionals, clients, volunteers, as well as organizations and systems, both public and private.
- Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to supervise clerical and/or professional personnel.
- Ability to effectively and productively work with people of very diverse economic, cultural and administrative backgrounds.
- Must be well organized, detail oriented and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must have the ability to effectively manage a variety of concurrent and varying activities.
- Good working knowledge of computers and familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
- Must have valid Ohio Driver’s License and reliable means of transportation for local travel.
- Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.
