JOB TITLE: Accounting Manager

CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, Half-time, Part-time, Temporary, Casual
SALARY GRADE: 75,000 to 90,000 depending on experance and qualifications.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, the Accounting Manager assists the Sr. VP of Accounting in the operation and preparation of On The Go’s monthly and annual financial statements. Ensures that all relevant accounting deadlines are met and information is prepared accurately. Provides assistance to program and senior management in short- and long-term planning. Supervises and manages assigned staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage all monthly accounting processes and operations including the monthly close, AP, AR, and General Ledger; providing analysis and reporting as required.
- Analyzes monthly operating income statement, balance sheet and prepare asset and liability reconciliations.
- Resolve data entry discrepancies prior to submitting data for processing.
- Provide oversight of balance sheet analysis to ensure all accruals are properly stated, all reconciliations properly prepared and support for all balance sheet accounts are properly maintained.
- Provide analysis and reports for senior management; use analysis independently to target and anticipate problem areas to ensure that accurate and timely information is available to senior management for decision-making.
- Communicate project objectives effectively to department, set and prioritize deadlines, and maintain professional environment.
- Implement internal controls and processes and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
- Automate processes to better employ human capital and achieve efficiencies.
- Support ongoing client relationships: represent individual programs in reports and collateral material, prepare monthly and quarterly reports, tables, and graphs to track revenue and client program success using Excel, Power Point, and Financial Edge.
- Ensure that all appropriate policies, rules, regulations, and agreements are developed and followed.
- Ensures compliance with all accounting procedures.
- Follow IRS Guidelines for tax forms.
- Reviews assigned department financial statements and assists with annual budget process and audit.
- Prepare reports and ad hoc queries using database software tools.
- Submit software requirements and improvements for department, review functions for accuracy and efficiency.
- Support the design and implementation of a new accounting system, including requirements definition, data testing, reporting and post-implementation needs.
MINIMUM DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of prior accounting experience
- Start up or Nonprofit experance a plus
- Work with Federal and State Grant Funding

- Ability to work successfully within a monthly and an annual budget process.
- Previous A/R and/or A/P experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory or managerial experience in a non-profit or corporate setting.
