Our DSP positions offer flexible schedules that work with your life. Available schedules may vary, but because our clients need support 24/7, there are many options that work well with school schedules or other commitments you may have.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES OF A DSP
Client Support:
Adjoin helps individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities of varied backgrounds, interests, and abilities to achieve their life plan in the communities where they live, work, learn, and play. Person-centered thinking and planning is at the heart of what we do. We focus on maximizing self-sufficiency and personal growth.
A DSP is focused on:
- Providing the client with appropriate and effective services such as support and training programs
- Serving each client in the least restrictive environment
- Increasing the independence of all clients served
- Assisting each person with improving his/her/their quality of life
- Participating in client evaluations through task analysis and other requested assessment devices
Independent Living:
In our Independent Living Program, DSPs assist clients with a wide array of tasks to support them in their goals to be more independent, such as:

Documentation:
DSPs are responsible for writing daily activity records for our clients in our electronic client management system. This is a critical duty that helps every member of the client’s support team communicate and collaborate to maximize the effectiveness of the services the client receives. A requirement of the DSP position is the ability to complete this documentation within the system and meet all appropriate deadlines.
