Senior Coordinator Community Programs
- Maximum Term, Full Time Position (until June 2026 - with the potential to be extended)
- 38 hours per week - Monday to Friday
- Based at our Wollongong Head Office & travelling to external venues in the local community

Position Overview
This role will lead a team of educators that deliver high quality community programs to children and families throughout the Wollongong LGA. These programs include playgroups, school holiday programs and other targeted supports for children 0-12 and their families. As the leader you will guide and mentor the team in flexible approaches to meet the needs of various groups within the community.
The successful candidate will work closely with community partners and stakeholders to create and maintain relationships that allow for strong connections with community. Through these partnerships you will plan and implement programs that encourage families to identify and meet their identified goals
Key Essential Criteria:
- Degree in Early Childhood Education, or relevant community services qualification (Diploma and experience considered)
- Outstanding skills in communication with families
- Experience in stakeholder relationships with community organisations, schools, government agencies, etc
- Demonstrated skills in team building, leadership and management
- Modelling high quality practice in interactions with children
- Demonstrated thorough working knowledge of Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Framework (NQF)
- Evidence of commitment to an inclusive curriculum
- Knowledge of EEO practices, WH&S policies and environmental sustainability principles and procedures
- Ability to provide presentations to children, families and community members. Experience delivering parenting programs desirable.
- Knowledge of the ECEC sector
- Experience providing playgroups (desirable)
- Report writing
- Use of the DEX portal or other data reporting systems (desirable)
- Maintain a valid paid Working with Children Check through the Office of the Children’s Guardian
- Maintain a current First Aid and CPR certification
- Identify and respond to children at risk certificate
- Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificate.
- A valid driver’s licence.
