Expanding social service agency is seeking a Master's level career coach to work with Essex and Union County youth ages 16-21 to help establish college-readiness activities as part of a larger career and life plan. He/she will assess and facilitate the needs of each youth in terms of college and career vocational readiness ranging from soft skills to academic prerequisites.
The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience working with youth and a Master’s degree in special education, psychology, social work, or a related field. Candidates must have a genuine desire to work with youth, a valid driver's license, and a car for work purposes.
Hours vary 10am-6pm, 11am-7pm, or 12pm-8pm depending on the day.

Responsibilities
- Provides relevant job search resources and assists with applications and interview prep
- Assesses each individual’s needs and develops an effective counseling/support relationship
- Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with Agency and DCP&P regulations and standards
- Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all company policies
- Provides youth remedial instruction, tutoring, college prep, etc.
- Links students to college retention programs and educational opportunities/funds
- Participates in the development, implementation, and follow up of individualized service plans
- Attends required trainings, staff meetings, and other meetings/events as requested
- Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field
- At least one year of related experience
- Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Highly organized and self-motivated
- Willing and able to attend required trainings outside of normal work hours
- Access to a car to use for work purposes
- Valid driver's license
