Role Summary: The Arizona Sports Foundation (“Foundation”) is seeking a highly motivated, strategic and experienced community engagement professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for cultivating relationships with all levels of youth and scholastic football organizations throughout the State of Arizona. This position will be a member of the Foundation’s Event Operations team reporting the Chief Legal & Strategy Officer and will also work closely with the Foundation’s corporate partnerships, community relations and ticketing teams to help activate corporate partnerships within the youth football space and leverage relationships to sell group tickets to the Foundation’s events, specifically the Guaranteed Rate Bowl and Vrbo Fiesta Bowl.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to cultivate relationships with youth and scholastic football organizations across the State of Arizona, including the Arizona Interscholastic Association.
- Develop and maintain a network of contacts and relationships with key stakeholders in the football community at every level – including youth football, high school, flag, college and professional.
- Work closely with the corporate partnerships team to identify and activate corporate partnership opportunities/sponsorships that seek to support community engagement, with a strong focus on youth sports.
- Collaborate with the ticket sales team to identify and facilitate group ticket sales opportunities for Foundation college football games and other events.
- Strategically developing and implement marketing and engagement campaigns targeted to youth, specifically youth football and youth sports organizations to increase awareness and attendance at Foundation events.
- Develop and manage budgets for youth marketing events and promotions.
- Collaborate closely with other departments within the organization to ensure successful execution of events and promotions.
- Attend and participate in industry events and conferences to stay current on industry trends and best practices for community-based ticket sales techniques and partnerships.
- Represent the Foundation in a passionate and professional manner at events (e.g., youth football games, clinics, skills challenges and other youth sports-related special events).
- Support database collection efforts at assigned events.
- Engage with football fans across the State of Arizona in a positive manner as a brand ambassador to provide pertinent information and answer questions about the Foundation, its mission, values and activities
- Distribute collateral and promotional/giveaway items at various events.
- Operate and maintain promotional equipment including inflatables, sales tables, and other set-up elements
- Oversee the entire life cycle of event planning, from ideation through execution, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Conduct comprehensive post-event evaluations to assess outcomes against objectives, provide detailed reports to stakeholders and use insights for future event planning.
- Serve as a collaborative team member within the event operations team, responsible for ensuring clear communication of event needs and support across all organizational events.
- Actively engage with other event operation team members to effectively coordinate and achieve the successful execution of all events, fostering a unified approach to meeting event objectives.
- Work with event operation team by facilitating discussions, aligning resources, and working cohesively with various departments to ensure all event operations are seamlessly integrated and executed according to plan.
- In addition to the responsibilities outlined, this role requires flexibility to adapt to evolving organizational needs, undertake tasks beyond those listed, and contribute to projects as they arise, ensuring the team's objectives are achieved efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, sports management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sports event promotion, community engagement and/or youth football.
- Strong knowledge of the football industry and the ability to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and strategic planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and always as part of a larger team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Ability to travel as needed.
