Position Overview
Impact Managers (IMs) lead and develop teams of full-time student success coaches as idealistic, emerging leaders and practitioners who provide holistic support to students, classrooms, and school communities. Reporting to an Impact Director and working primarily from partner school(s), IMs play a critical role in implementing City Year’s Whole School, Whole Child (WSWC) service model, mission, and practices. This position is responsible for three core areas of work: team development and experience, school partnerships, and City Year’s impact goals. Impact Managers support their teams through a challenging and rewarding year of service while helping create the conditions for student and school success.
Job Description
TheImpactManager willperform the following roles and responsibilities as described below:
Lead, manage, and coach a teamranging from 6-10 AmeriCorps members with the age range of18-25-year-olds completing a year ofserviceto achieve service impact with students and reach their leadership development potential.
Monitor performance through consistent check-ins, clear expectations, andtimelyfeedback to address challenges, balancing accountability withthe developmental needs of early-career adults.
Ensurestudent success coachessuccessfully meetAmeriCorpsservice requirements, including service hours, documentation, and adherence to prohibited activities and program policies.
Lead team in implementingCityYear’s servicemodel,including classroom support,individualizedtutoring, schoolwide initiatives, extended learning time, and other supports aligned to school priorities.
School Partner Management
Serve as the primary liaison between City Year and the school, building strong relationships with principals, teachers, and staff to align service with school prioritiesand follow through on shared decisions.

Project Management:Organizes, prioritizes, and tracks work across people, partnerships, and timelines to ensure alignment andfollow‑through.
Works primarily on-siteat one or twopartner schools, withadditionaltime spent at the City Year office for meetings,training, and team gatherings.
Follows a schedule aligned with school-day hours(typically between8:00 a.m. and 5:30p.m.),with occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekend hours for events,trainings, or service days.
The salary for this position is $50,000 annually. Compensation iscommensuratewith experience and aligned with internal equity practices.
