Programme Overview
Peepul has partnered with the Government of Madhya Pradesh and contributes to the educational landscape through various initiatives.At present, it engages in 3 programs here:
- Sandipani VidyalayaTeacher Professional Developmentprogramme: This international award-winningprogrammelooks to strengthen the training, coaching and performance management of the ~300,000 teachersacross the state.
- Sandipani VidyalayaSchools: Thisbreakthroughprogrammelooks to build ~10,000 ‘world-class’ public schools in the state, that enable excellence.In the first phase, there are300 K-12 schools selected.Peepul is co-leading the Academic Support and Monitoring Unit.
Beyond this, we have been involved withMission Educationin theAlirajpurDistrict of MP (Ministry of Education-led initiative for strengthening Foundational Literacy and Numeracy) and World Bank-supported projects in the state. Furthermore, we are expanding our partnership withAmazon India under the "Amazon Future Engineers" umbrella. This collaboration focuses on strengthening Computer Science education inSandipani VidyalayaSchools in Madhya Pradesh. With a successful engagement in our Exemplar schools and now the scaling up of the partnership in Delhi, we have a solid foundation to enable this opportunity further.
About the role
TheProject Associate-Training playsanimportantrolein ensuring the success of Peepul's ongoing partnership with the Government of Madhya Pradesh, aimed at achieving quality education for all and supporting the enhancement of the public school system in India. Specifically, theProject Associate will be primarily responsible for the effective design and implementation of teacher training andcapacity-buildingprograms related to computer science curriculum integration within the state's academic framework, with a focus onSandipani Vidyalayaand other state priorities.
Responsibilities would include (including but not limited to):
- Establish productive working relationships with state-level subject matter experts from the School Education Department and partnerorganisations.
- Work closely withSandipani VidyalayaSchools to ensure the successful implementation of the computer science curriculum,providingregular support and guidance to teachers and school leaders to effectively integrate the curriculum.
- Collaborate with the education department and partners to design a teacher training program tailored to the computer science curriculum.
- Design orassistin designing engaging and interactive short courses that enhance the learning experience of both students and teachers in computer science.
- Conduct training sessions on various computer science topics, such as MS. Office, Scratch Jr, Scratch, and other relevant subjects, targeting teachers and students.
- Assistin developing mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating the impact of the training programs, ensuring that the desired outcomes are achieved effectively.
- Undertake anyadditionaltasks necessaryto successfully implementthe program.

Qualifications and Role Requirements:

- Work Experience:We value both professional and personal experience. Candidates with 1-4years of experience indesigning and delivering effective teacher training programs, preferably in the field of computer science education.
- Other Skills:Proficient in designing engaging computer science curricula for students and skilled in developing effective teacher trainingsessions.
- Language Proficiency:English and Hindi
