1.Act as a leader in program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
2.Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, developing, scheduling and directing personnel and volunteers as needed. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Ensures records of staff certifications are current and complete.
3.Active support of our DEIB statement and putting into practice our commitment to equity, diversity, belonging and inclusion.Continue to think about strategies to support diversity goals of the organization.
4.Lifeguard and teach swim lessons when needed.
5.Assume various administrative and coaching responsibilities relative to Blue Waves Swim Team.
6.Manage rosters, mid-session reports, certificates of completions and registrations. (Including registrations for Blue Waves.)
7.Manages daily emails/voicemails to the Aquatics Department.
8.Assists with lifeguarding, swim instruction, First Aid and CPR trainings and in-services.
9.Assists in coverage and finding coverage for the pool schedules.
10. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
11. Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events, including volunteer opportunities.
12. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Responds to
all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.
13. Create and execute one new program idea per session/quarter.
14. May include a summer off-site at a WSY summer camp.
15. Position will include weekends and evenings.
