·Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, Fitness Management, or related field and/or commensurate experience.
·Must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills and supervisory experience with YMCA or like organization.
·Strong understanding of fiscal management and budget process.
·Highly developed organization skills and the ability to motivate and develop staff.
·Current certifications in, or the ability to obtain, First Aid, CPR, Lifeguard Instructor Training, Oxygen, Certified Pool Operator, and USA Swimming Credentials.
·Must be responsive to members and program participants.
·Must be attentive to details, well organized, able to meet deadlines, take initiative to solve problems, be proactive in decision making, and work with little supervision.
·Strong background in Aquatic programming with at least 2 years of experience preferred.
·Knowledge of emergency policies and procedures for the facility.
·Understanding of risk management issues and safety requirements for the facility and program areas.
·Must have strong oral and written communication skills with volunteers, members, and parents.
