· Implement wellness, group exercise, personal training and adult sports leagues that promote retention of existing member and engage new members.
· Analyze data, systems and processes to recognize growth and retention opportunities within the wellness department.
· Evaluate group fitness schedule for usage and make needed changes to schedule.
· Create and implement wellness and lifestyle programs, adult sports leagues, personal training and group exercise participation through product knowledge and interactions with existing and potential members.
· Work with the Membership Director and Admin Team to maximize the experience for new members and collaborate with all departments to maximize enrollments in program registration and achieve desired results.
· Drive revenue through sales of personal training, group training, adult sports leagues, special events and wellness programming.
· Ensure proper implementation of wellness schedules and procedures to provide maximum opportunities for member/staff connections.
· Identify and employ best practices in systems and technology to support effective management of the department.
· Utilize available technology, reporting tools and data to enhance wellness participation and member retention.
· Create and manage the wellness department budget.
· Provide leadership and support to annual fundraising and auction event.
· Ensure all staff are current with required certifications.
· Direct staff to support health and wellness initiatives and achieve goals.
· Recruit, select, develop and retain appropriate skill depth level for the department. Support training and career succession plan for staff team.
· Provide leadership through established performance goals and standards, regular assessment of group fitness and training staff performance including performance evaluation and regular staff meetings.
· Monitor daily operations to adhere to all safety standards and policies including abuse prevention.
· Communicate equipment repair and maintenance needs to ensure all equipment is always in proper and efficient working order.
· Must have flexibility in work schedule and expectations to work evening and weekends.
· Promote and represent the mission and core values of the YMCA of Yakima.
