GENERAL FUNCTION:The Senior Program Director is responsible for the overall management and development of all early learning and special programs in accordance with all Greater Wichita YMCA policies, procedures, and standards. The Senor Program Director is accountable for all aspects of early learning and specialty programs including fiscal management, financial development, staff management and compliance with all childcare regulations. It is expected that an average work week of 50 hours will be necessary to accomplish the assigned duties.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Program Director is responsible for implementing Association policies and procedures by leading and directing ALL early learning and grant program operations as assigned in the following areas:
Staff Development:
- Develop and promote a participant-focused culture among staff based on relationship building, active listening and service above self.
- Ensure that all Association personnel policies and procedures are adhered to within the program sites.
- Complete timely performance evaluations of all staff to ensure that payroll and personnel information is accurate and submitted on a timely basis.
- Provide onsite management throughout the year at multiple locations.
- Develop and train and evaluate staff on quality curriculum and instructional practices.
- Oversee and provide support in hiring and training of new staff.
Program Operations:
- Facilitate program audits to ensure quality, safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that licensing standards are exceeded per the KDHE guidelines.
- Develop and maintain contacts with community partners to promote and further early learning.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere that values diversity and inclusion.
- Be visible to staff and program participants.
Fiscal Management:
- Accountable for annual budget development, monthly budget monitoring and achievement of budget.
- Implement strategies to grow program enrollment through successful, high-quality programs and great customer service.
- Maintain and be thoroughly knowledgeable with systems of financial control including revenues, expenses and inventories.
Financial Development/ Strong Community Campaign:
- Develop new ideas and income strategies.
- Lead staff in in managing, collecting, and processing fees.
- Engage, lead and support staff in accomplishing their respective donor and volunteer recruitment, development and giving to achieve goas for the Strong Community campaign.
- Participate in stewardship of current donors and actively recruit new donors to meet campaign goals.
- Achieve continued growth in participant giving.
General:
Demonstrate for character values: caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility.
Ensure Association goals and strategies are adhered to and effectively communicated to staff and volunteers.
Maintain complete familiarity with all risk management procedures and policies.
Monitor and manage systems, drills and training related to risk management and safety for participants and employees.
Adhere to all systems and procedures established by the branch and association.
Participate in association-wide projects when needed.
All other duties as assigned.
