Emerson Collective Internship Program
Emerson Collective’s summer internship program places college-aged students in paid internship opportunities across Emerson Collective and our affiliate partners XQ Institute, E Pluribus Unum, and Chicago CRED.
Candidates can apply to a maximum of three positions. Any additional applications will not be considered.
The Opportunity
The Experience team creates outstanding events and office environments that empower the work of Emerson Collective.
The Events intern will participate in the production of in-person, hybrid, and virtual events: taking meeting notes and disseminating action items, researching events supplies and vendors, preparing event materials, preparing executive event briefings, on-site day-of assistance, and coordinating event debriefs. They will conduct vendor research projects, including vetting and tracking new vendors (caterers, audiovisuals, food trucks, venues, and accommodation). This intern will develop toolkits, manuals, and templates integral to the execution of events, as well as an event supply inventory and on-site supply packing systems. Additionally, they may participate as backend technical support on virtual event platforms, including but not limited to Zoom. Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and Salesforce is an asset.

Role and Responsibilities- Observe and assist in planning, coordinating, and executing events for Emerson Collective’s New York office and internal virtual events.
- Provide support in tracking database information.
- Provide administrative support with managing inventory lists and prepping event materials.
- Research best-in-class events, vendors, and other logistics as needed.
- Assist in identifying and improving event efficiencies in the area, specifically around sustainability and cost-saving initiatives.
Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements- Rising undergraduate sophomores, juniors, or seniors pursuing a degree in hospitality, marketing, event management communications, or a related field are preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative and manage many tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive and self-motivated attitude.
- Experience with event marketing tools (such as Splash) and project management software (like Airtable) is beneficial.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace tools.
- Experience or interest in social impact, arts & culture, or related fields.
- Graphic design skills are a bonus.
- A proven background in the dynamic and evolving work environment.
- Strong intuition and incredibly perceptive.
- Operate with care, kindness, and a spirit of generosity.
- Excited by working in an environment where any idea is possible and is driven to help execute to make those ideas happen.

Location
Emerson Collective is a Bay Area-based organization with offices in Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C. This position is located in New York, NY, and is onsite 40 hours/week between June 9th and August 1st, 2025.
Key Dates
November 18 - January 10: Internship applications accepted, and interviews commence on a rolling basis. Please note that not all applicants will be selected for interviews.
January 10 - March 7: Interviews continue, and offers are extended.
June 9: Internship program begins.
August 1: Internship program concludes.
Compensation
All EC Interns are paid $25/hour and can expect to work 40 hours per week from June 9th to August 1st (eight weeks). Interns may also receive travel and housing allowances as needed.
