Emerson Collective Internship Program
Emerson Collective’s summer internship program places college-aged students in paid internship opportunities across Emerson Collective and our affiliate partners XQ Institute, E Pluribus Unum, and Chicago CRED.
Candidates can apply to a maximum of three positions. Any additional applications will not be considered.
The Opportunity
The Venture team invests in consequential companies delivering generational impact and venture-scale returns across all stages. We invest in companies across a number of sectors, including climate, healthcare, fintech, edtech, the future of work, and media. The Venture Success group within the Venture team partners with Emerson Collective’s portfolio companies by building out services and resources to help them achieve impact at scale and grow their enterprise value.
The Portfolio Support intern will work with the Venture Success group and have the unique opportunity to gain insight into multiple functions such as operations and data analysis, community building, and event planning.

Role and Responsibilities- Operationalizing portfolio support efforts through data capture, automation, and auditing internal CRM systems.
- Supporting the expansion of our resources by updating tactical guides for portfolio companies.
- Tracking and reporting on Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), ensuring that progress is monitored and effectively communicated to stakeholders.
- Assisting in writing newsletters that go out regularly to key company leaders.
- Helping plan and execute events that range from networking receptions to hands-on tactical workshops for company leaders.
Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements- Rising undergraduate rising or senior preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data entry and analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing tasks, navigating ambiguity, and meeting deadlines effectively.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets; training will be provided on internal systems and tools (e.g., Airtable, Salesforce, Affinity, Pardot).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A proven background in a dynamic and evolving work environment.
- Strong intuition and incredibly perceptive.
- Operate with care, kindness, and a spirit of generosity.
- Excited by working in an environment where any idea is possible and is driven to help execute to make those ideas happen.

Location
Emerson Collective is a Bay Area-based organization with offices in Chicago, New York, Oakland, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. This position is located in San Francisco with occasional team days in Palo Alto and is onsite 40 hours/week between June 9th and August 1st, 2025.
Key Dates
November 18 - January 10: Internship applications accepted, and interviews commence on a rolling basis. Please note that not all applicants will be selected for interviews.
January 10 - March 7: Interviews continue, and offers are extended.
June 9: Internship program begins.
August 1: Internship program concludes.
Compensation
All EC Interns are paid $25/hour and can expect to work 40 hours per week from June 9th to August 1st (eight weeks). Interns may also receive travel and housing allowances as needed.
