Overview
KIPP SoCal Public Schools is seeking a results-driven and resourceful Student Enrollment & Recruitment Ambassador to spearhead efforts to meet ambitious student enrollment goals for KIPP Adelante in San Diego for the 2025-26 school year. This role demands a proven ability to achieve results through strategic outreach, relationship-building, and direct engagement with families.
As the Student Enrollment & Recruitment Ambassador, you will be accountable for generating a specified number of student interest forms and applications by actively canvassing door-to-door, making phone calls to prospective applicants, and cultivating strong, positive connections with families in various settings.
The ideal candidate is an experienced outreach professional with demonstrated success in door-to-door canvassing and community engagement. Familiarity with San Diego—particularly Southeast San Diego—is essential. To excel in this role, you must bring:

Responsibilities - As a Student Enrollment & Recruitment Ambassador, you will play a key role in driving student enrollment and ensuring prospective families have an exceptional experience with KIPP Adelante and KIPP SoCal. Your responsibilities will include:
- Driving Enrollment Success: Collaborate with designated points of contact to generate lead applications and secure enrollment for your assigned portfolio of school(s).
- Representing KIPP SoCal: Serve as a knowledgeable and enthusiastic ambassador for KIPP SoCal by becoming an expert in the programs at your assigned school(s) and understanding the broader network. Actively engage with families and community members at events, including tabling, block walking, and phone banking.
- Strategizing Recruitment Efforts: Create and maintain a comprehensive community asset map to identify and prioritize recruitment opportunities.
- Executing Recruitment Strategies: Develop and implement targeted student recruitment plans. This includes outreach to community organizations, local businesses, childcare centers, and schools, as well as leading phone banking efforts and organizing summer retention activities to drive leads and applications.
- Engaging Prospective Families: Collect and track prospective family information at events using HubSpot and/or other systems for follow-up. Respond to all leads within 24 business hours, documenting outreach and progress in required systems such as HubSpot or SchoolMint.
- Creating School-Specific Content: Partner with the marketing team to create compelling, school-specific social media content. This includes photographing school events and activities to highlight the vibrant community.
- Building Strong Relationships: Cultivate positive relationships with prospective families throughout the recruitment process. Regularly communicate through personalized messages and invitations to upcoming events in collaboration with the marketing team.
- Hosting School Tours: Plan and lead school tours for prospective families, addressing their questions and providing an engaging experience to strengthen their decision to enroll.
- Providing School-Based Support: Work closely with school-based teams to assist with recruitment-related activities as directed by your supervisor.
You’ll Be Qualified If You Have- At least a high school diploma
- Able to work on weekends
- Be able to commit to full-time hours of 40 hours per week, some of which may happen on evenings and/or weekends
- Have experience with data management, including but not limited to data entry and data reporting.
- Able to walk/stand for long periods of time (6-8 hrs/day)
- Reliable transportation to attend various locations in one day is required
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Bilingual (specifically English and Spanish) strongly preferred
Benefits & Compensation- Starting pay rate of $20 per hour
- 100% of healthcare premium costs covered by employer, dependents added at 50% of the cost
