The Stanford Center on Early Childhood, an initiative of the Stanford Accelerator for Learning, seeks a full time Special Projects Manager to join our team. The Special Projects Manager will work under the supervision of the Director of the RAPID Survey (RAPID) to organize, implement, and oversee projects and activities that support RAPID and its stakeholders and that advance the program. The Special Projects Manager will participate in the prioritization of these projects and activities, and will lead the development and implementation of project plans.
Note: This position is a 1-year fixed term appointment that may be renewed based on performance and funding. This position is eligible for a hybrid work agreement. Limited travel may be required for convenings and events. Housed at Stanford Graduate School of Education, the Stanford Accelerator for Learning (SAL) is a research hub that connects experts from the sciences, medicine, engineering, law, and humanities to expedite learning solutions for all learners. POSITION SUMMARY
The Special Projects Manager will work under the supervision of the Director of the RAPID Survey to develop, design, and implement projects and new activities that support operations, advance partnerships, and expand RAPID’s capacity to provide timely, actionable, relevant data and caregiver voices to those who can use it.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Develop and manage research programs by conducting program activities, including outreach to varied stakeholders within the program, assigning resources and making program improvement recommendations that impact policies and programs.
- Identify, recommend and implement opportunities for new program development.
- Source, collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program or function.
- Assist in the administration of programs. Make recommendations for preliminary overview and changes.
- Write and/or edit complex content for program activities.
- Contribute to and inform on strategic program/entity planning and related funding and financial sustainability.
- May advise students and/or coach/mentor clients.
- Develop or contribute to outreach strategy related to program communications, development, partnerships, and fundraising/funding.
- Coach and mentor program staff.
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Advanced degree may be required for some programs. For jobs with financial responsibilities, experience managing a budget and developing financial plans.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to develop program partnerships and funding sources.
- Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.
- Ability to oversee and direct staff. Basic knowledge of managing budgets and developing financial plans.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Ability to develop and enhance relationships with organizations that serve and advocate for under-represented communities.
- Ability and experience working with a diverse group of stakeholders, including community members.
- Advanced experience in academic research, methodology and/or data analysis.
- Experience working in the fields of early childhood development, education, public health, social work or healthcare.
- Experiencing managing complex projects or programs.
- Experience working in community system and/or policy environments.
- Experience with professional development and/or adult learning.
- Experience developing and fostering community and/or networks.
- Excellent organizational skills.
