Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound is the oldest and largest mentoring organization in the State serving over 1000 youth and mentors each year in King, Pierce and Kitsap Counties.

Job Summary:

The Development Manager is part of a Community Philanthropy team with colleagues dedicated to individual giving, corporate partnerships, and foundation and municipal grants, led by a Chief Development Officer. The individual in this role reports to the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and manages the Development Coordinator/Salesforce Specialist. They will develop, implement, and manage day-to-day operations of philanthropy efforts, ensure the integrity of donor data in our Salesforce CRM, manage and grow the workplace giving and individual broad-based annual fund activities, support fundraising events and strengthen stewardship efforts for Big (mentor) philanthropic and other broad-based donors. The nature of Community Philanthropy work requires availability on some nights and weekends in order to meet deadlines, help with special events, and support the overall work of the team.

Essential Responsibilities:

Strengthen, execute, analyze, and lead an annual fund program that increases donor engagement, retention, and dollars raised
Serve as department project manager via Asana for all campaigns, appeals, and fundraising events
Lead donor stewardship and solicitation activities for corporate donors in the $1-$5,000 annual giving range and individual donors in the $1-$999 giving range
Manage all broad-based stewardship activities, ensuring donors feel appreciated and informed through regular connection and reporting activities
Lead and organize initiatives to increase the engagement of workplace giving donors and sustaining/recurring donors
Lead components of the donor stewardship and solicitation communications schedule (e.g. emails, newsletters, direct mail) to ensure timely and meaningful interactions, deepening the commitment of donors to our work
Collaborate with Senior Marketing Manager for all broad base donor communications and lead/prospect communications
Collaborate with Senior Marketing Manager, CDO, BBBSA, and other stakeholders for comprehensive alumni engagement resulting in conversion of donors and/or volunteers
Manage, support, and empower the Development Coordinator/Salesforce Specialist
Develop and update Salesforce reports and dashboards to track fundraising progress
Oversee department monthly finance reconciliation reforecasting processes, provide input for annual budgeting process, serve as primary Philanthropy participant in integration with BBBSA tools and BBBSPS financial software integrations
Lead components of overall project management for 3 annual major fundraising events of (Big Gala, Big Impact, Big Invitational): audience development, communications plan, stewardship plan, auction and online gift processing platforms, liase with finance department for reconciliation and giving analysis
Lead and organize corporate partnership volunteer activities across the organization (Seattle Seahawks Spirit of 12, Microsoft Gives Month, National Mentoring Month presentations, etc)
Eagerly participate in strengthening the culture of philanthropy across the organization
Other duties as assigned, which may include up to 10-15% of role?

Requirements

Job Qualifications:

Minimum 2-4 years of professional fundraising experience, with demonstrated past experience managing gift entry, donor stewardship, and a variety of contribution methods
Proficiency with Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack required
Excellent analytical and project management skills
High level of skill and familiarity with technology, fundraising, and database systems
Detail-oriented, organized self-starter; able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks with varying levels of urgency to meet deadlines
Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in sensitive, complex, and/or controversial situations
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercising good judgment, decision-making and problem-solving skills to achieve team goals
Demonstrated understanding of the connections between programs and fundraising impacts, and between finance and philanthropy processes
Prior supervisory/management experience a plus
Valid US driver’s license, insurance coverage, and consistent access to a reliable mode of transportation: the job requires occasional travel for local meetings and events

Position is based in Seattle, with ability to work from Tacoma office as needed
