JOB SUMMARY:
The Philanthropy Manager is responsible for relationship and fund development to support Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville (HFHGN) home builds in Dickson, Cheatham, Wilson and Robertson Counties. Will work with Sponsor Relations Specialist to fulfill partnership and maximize the Sponsor/Volunteer Habitat experience. The Philanthropy Manager engages with members of each county’s Community Advisory Council to harness their connections within the community to recruit build and event sponsors. Works in partnership with Event Specialist to create successful fundraising events which bring awareness to the work Habitat for Humanity is doing in the community while raising significant funds to support the mission.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
House Sponsorships
- Responsible for identifying, cultivating and securing house sponsors and grant funding in Dickson Cheatham, Wilson and Robertson Counties in support of annual home builds in line with the agency budget.
- Oversees relationships with key house sponsors to ensure a positive experience is had and result in recurring partnerships.
- Works in partnership with Sponsor Relations Specialist to ensure covenants are sent and sponsors make timely payments and with the Volunteer Experience Specialist to create and manage volunteer registration links.
- Ensure pre-build and post-build meetings are performed and sponsor feedback is communicated.
- Works in partnership with Event Specialist and Sponsor Relations Specialist on home dedication ceremonies in Dickson, Cheatham, Robertson and Wilson Counties.
Fundraising
- Responsible for securing sponsorships for key fundraising events and donations from those in attendance in each county while working in conjunction with the Event Specialist who will handle the event logistics.
- Identify grant opportunities and works with appropriate agency resources to secure and fulfill.
- Create opportunities to drive donations through special campaigns or calls to action.
- Ensure agency has a visible presence and/or fundraising resources available in Dickson, Cheatham, Robertson and Wilson Counties.
- Support agency Development Dept. in their interface with business and community leaders, civic groups and others who can actively engage with Dickson Cheatham, Robertson and Wilson Counties.
Community Advisory Councils
- Identify and recruit community leaders to serve as Community Advisory Council members in Dickson, Cheatham, Robertson and Wilson Counties
- Ensure active and engaged Community Advisory Councils through quarterly scheduled meetings augmented with continued communication to support securing house sponsorships, successful fundraising events, homeownership applicants, land acquisition and ReStores.
- Ensure achievement of established goals for funds raised, volunteer participation, families served and Habitat’s image in each regional county community.
Other
- Responsible for entering and updating Salesforce with prospect and sponsor information
- Represents Humanity of Greater Nashville at appropriate community and professional organization events
- Supports the ReStore (if one exists) in achieving its inventory acquisition and revenue goals.
- Supports Homeowner Services in recruiting and training Habitat future homeowners in Dickson, Cheatham, Robertson and Wilson Counties.
- Participates in all staff training events
- Other duties as directed by management
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Fully responsible for raising all necessary revenue required to fund builds in Dickson, Cheatham, Wilson and Robertson Counties. This includes but is not limited House Sponsorship Funding, Special Event Funding, Large Gift solicitation and general donations, Grant identification and fulfillment, and Lot Funding not covered by central office grants.
- Must be a leader and the visible face of Habitat in the community(s) to ensure a positive image and connection to influencers and financial supporters in the community(s).
- Works effectively with Regional Community Advisory Council members.
- Must have the ability to relate to people of different ethnicities, faiths and incomes.
- Must have the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously in a timely manner.
- Position requires a valid TN Driver’s License and an insurable driving record.
- Regular and reliable attendance required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of five years’ work experience required; non-profit, volunteer management and development experience strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience supervising others and working with volunteers strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of the local funding community required.
- Must have computer skills including Microsoft Teams and Salesforce.com, and excellent verbal communication skills.

TIME REQUIREMENTS:
This position will require 40+ hours per work week. Some evening and weekend work is required. On-site presence on pre-determined Regional County build days, including Saturdays and Sundays required. Satisfactory attendance is required.
