Provides direct supervision of a group of children during before and after care programs. Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for the safety and well being of children at their designated site.
2. Planning, supervising, and implementation of the Ykids curriculum (including daily schedule).
3. Oversee daily operations at site (including positive discipline, attendance, children's concerns, working with other staff and parents).
4. Communicate effectively with staff, children, parents, and school administration.
5. Communicates on a daily basis with Direct Supervisor.
6. Assure YMCA standards and safety procedures are met and followed. Follow all safety and security protocols of the designated school.
7. Plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate, and consistent with YMCA values.
8. Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
9. Attends staff meetings and trainings. Includes all training required by the State of New Jersey.
10. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
11. Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
