Learning Links is expanding into Queensland and Northern NSW, and we’re looking for a passionate Housie Accounts Assessor to join our growing team! This is your chance to play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth financial and compliance operations of our Charity Housie/Bingo sessions. This newly scoped role has an immediate start in January. Part time 3 days a week (Mondays essential).
What you’ll do
You’ll act as the bridge between our Finance and Housie teams, ensuring seamless operations while providing crucial compliance advice and guidance on legislation.
- Drive financial excellence: Manage transactions, oversee banking, handle stock purchases, and keep our financials running smoothly.
- Champion compliance: Maintain the Housie portal, ensure operations meet legislation, and keep inventory records spot-on.
- Lead with impact: Support your team, collaborate with finance and housie staff, and provide guidance that makes a real difference.
Day to day your responsibilities will be to:
- Assessing the Housie session financial data for completeness and accuracy of data entered via the finance system portal. This includes ensuring Club session book, receipt book and Housie portal cash balances are reconciled.
- To investigate Housie session financial data discrepancies and resolve in a timely manner.
- Support the accurate processing of gift cards including purchasing, receipting and distribution.
- Ensure Housie session Jackpots are approved by manager.
- Support the processing of quarterly and year end stocktake.
- Providing support to the finance and Housie operations teams.
- Responding to queries raised by Housie operations.
- Proper filing of Housie finance documentations for Statutory audit purpose,
- Assisting the Housie finance team with other financial processing, management, and reporting for Learning Links.
- Providing financial, administrative, and clerical support within the finance team.
- Performing duties in alignment with Learning Links’ accounting policies, transactions, procedures, and practices and making sure they are carried out in accordance with accounting standards and all laws and regulations

What you’ll bring
- Computer literate with experience using an accounting / finance system.
- An Accounting diploma or degree or studying toward
- Excellent time management skills including the ability to meet deadlines
- Positive team player with a collaborative focus
- Detail oriented with a strong commitment to quality
- Strong MS Excel skill and other Microsoft programs such as Word, Outlook, Teams
- Self-starter with a positive and 'can-do' attitude and a strong work ethic
- Prior experience in accounting software would be an advantage.
