The American Diabetes Association (ADA) is seeking a Project Manager to join our Program Management Office. The Project Manager has overall responsibility for managing scope, budgets, timelines, project teams, stakeholders, vendors, and contractual deliverables across multiple projects that improve the lives of people living with diabetes. Reporting to the Program Director, this role supports the PMO in standardizing project management processes (with a focus on efficiency), ensuring strategic alignment and effective program delivery, and fostering collaboration across teams. The Project Manager will support ADA mission-driven success on PMO initiatives and programs while promoting accountability and impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Aligns resources to accomplish project tasks and key milestones with clear accountability for project deliverables
- Communicates and collaborates with development and marketing teams to provide training and information required to promote and seek funding for new projects, programs, and systems.
- Directs the work of a project team with overall responsibility for managing scope, budget, timeline, staffing and stakeholders, vendors, and contractual deliverables.
- Accountable for project deliverables, overall project success, and supporting contract renewals to expand ADA’s offerings.
- Serves as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders, volunteers, customers, and vendors.
- Maintains process documentation and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement for all organization initiatives.
- Facilitates quality management and change management techniques for project management.
- Effectively estimates and plans project resources, schedules, and budgets.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum expected years of relevant experience : 5 years in project management and/or delivery of programs, products, or services
- Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification is preferred
- Understanding of project management methodologies, such as PMBOK
- Demonstrated proficiency in project management software (e.g. MS Project or Smartsheets) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong sense of urgency
