The YMCA is looking for our next change maker and team member to help continue our growth, reach and mission
This role oversees program expansion and innovation, including before & after-school care, day camp, membership growth and engagement, and strong fiscal management. The COO must be technology-driven, with the ability to leverage systems and data to enhance operational efficiency and the member experience.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the COO is responsible for developing and executing operational strategy to ensure the association operates effectively, and continues to grow. Direct reports include; 4 Executive directors, 1 senior marketing director, and 1 association maintenance director.
Supervises 3 Branch Executive Directors, Executive Director of Childcare, Senior Marketing Director, and an Association Maintenance Director.
Plays a leadership role in setting and implementing overall Y policies, procedures and strategies.
Partners with the CFO and Finance team to develop and monitor monthly financial reports, ensuring revenue targets are met and expenses are effectively controlled according to budget.
Oversees continuous improvement of before and after-school child care programs, including curriculum development, staff support, and quality standards across 21 locations.
Provide strategic oversite and leadership to enhance the quality, consistency, and impact of 5-day camps, supporting executive staff and camp leadership.
Identifies opportunities for innovative programming across branches to advance YMCA goals, and collaborating with staff teams to develop and implement programs.
Fosters a culture of innovation by leading branch executive and leadership staff in the planning, development, and execution of new, member-focused program initiatives and activities.
Promotes a core values-based, servant leadership environment, demonstrating collaboration and supporting the values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, Teamwork, and inclusion.
Provide executive oversight of all facilities and grounds, including maintenance, safety, and compliance with applicable regulations.
Supports and collaborates with branch leadership and Development to develop communication and campaign strategies to successfully market the annual campaign.
Supports plans for identifying, cultivating and soliciting branch annual fund prospects.
Translates the Association’s Strategic Plan into actionable initiatives and day-to-day operations, leading branch-level planning to ensure staff and volunteers are engaged, accountable, and invested in successful execution.
Ensure all facilities and program sites meet safety, health and quality standards.
Collaborate with the CEO on expansion opportunities, new program models, and community partnerships.
Recruit, hire, train, develop, retain, and lead direct leadership staff. Review and evaluate staff performance with mid-year check in and end of year evaluation ensuring that all departmental goals and association goals pertaining to operations are achieved.
Act as a liaison for our YMCA association across assigned regional and state YMCA networks.
Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Middletown.
Assists the CEO in any other projects, as assigned.
