Position Overview
As a Family Peer Recovery Coach (PRC), you will provide peer support to women and families impacted by opioid and other substance use disorders. Under the supervision of a Family Licensed Clinician, you will serve as a guide and role model from first program contact through long-term aftercare. You will advocate for women during interactions with benefits agencies, courts, child welfare, and other systems, helping them regain independence and mastery over their recovery process.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach and education to medical and human service professionals about opioid resources for pregnant and parenting women.
- Engage in outreach activities to connect with women using harmful substances, including opioids.
- Provide interim support and resource acquisition for individuals seeking treatment.
- Assist with intake and early treatment transition, serving as an advocate.
- Facilitate peer support groups focused on empowerment, recovery, and self-advocacy.
- Coach and mentor women in community settings to practice recovery skills.
- Support post-discharge reintegration and access to community-based supports.
- Help coordinate and monitor the Family Focused Recovery (FFR) program.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Age: 18 years or older
- Valid Driver’s License
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel approximately 60% of work hours
- Proof of current auto liability insurance (your name must be on the policy)
- Acceptable driving record and background checks
- Education/Licensing:
- Lived experience with a behavioral health diagnosis
- At least 12 months (24–36 months preferred) of continuous recovery stability
- Peer Support Specialist Certification
