Purpose of the Position
The Philanthropy Manager focuses on cultivating community generosity, strengthening donor relationships, coordinating fundraising initiatives, and managing day-to-day philanthropy operations that help sustain and expand Rainbow programs.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Relations & Fundraising
- Support the development and execution of fundraising plans that encompass individual giving, memorial donations, corporate partnerships, and special events.
- Cultivate donors through timely communication, impact stories, and recognition consistent with Rainbow’s values and brand.
- Oversee and optimize donor data management to enhance constituent relationships, improve continued participation, and increase fundraising revenue.
- Partner with the communications and marketing team on philanthropic messaging, newsletters, and social media features celebrating community generosity.
Event Planning & Community Engagement
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of Foundation fundraising events, memorial dedications, and donor appreciation gatherings.
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure events reflect Rainbow’s mission and offer a meaningful, personal experience.
- Work with the Foundation Board to identify sponsorship and partnership opportunities that enhance event success and community visibility.
Grant & Fund Development
- Identify local, regional, and national grant opportunities consistent with RCC’s mission and strategic goals.
- Prepare or assist in preparing proposals, letters of intent, and impact reports.
- Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines, submissions, and renewals, as applicable.
Data, Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee integrity of donor records, event data, and financial tracking using company systems.
- Prepare monthly and annual philanthropic activity summaries for the Foundation President, CFO, and Board.
QualificationsQualifications
- Bachelor's degree in public relations, nonprofit management, or related field preferred.
- Experience with fundraising, grant writing, event management in a nonprofit setting preferred.
- Experience with donor databases and Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and proof of current car insurance are required upon hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
- Must be able to drive to and from locations as necessary for your role.
- Must be able to maintain healthy boundaries and positive interpersonal relationships.
- Must be tactful and courteous in communication with others, whether in-person, by phone, or in writing.
- Must act with integrity and demonstrate good work ethics including reliable attendance and punctuality.
