DescriptionAs a Mobile Crisis Responder, you’ll respond directly to individuals experiencing urgent mental health needs in the community, in homes, and on-site. This role is fast-paced, highly autonomous, and best suited for someone who can assess, prioritize, and act—without needing constant direction.

What You’ll Do

Respond in real-time to mental health crises in the community, office, or patient homes

Quickly assess, triage, and prioritize situations to ensure safety
-
Provide immediate crisis intervention and stabilization support
-
Collaborate with law enforcement, EMS, emergency departments, and internal teams
-
Help individuals and families develop safety plans and next steps
-
Connect patients to community resources and ongoing care
-
Document all services accurately and within required timeframes
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Previous experience in mental health, social services, healthcare, or a related field strongly preferred
(Examples: CNA, behavioral health tech, case management, peer support, direct care, etc.)

Must be at least 20 years of age

Valid Kansas driver’s license and ability to be insured through Prairie View

Ability to pass background screenings (KBI, DCF, Central Registry)

Ability to complete required physical safety/restraint training

Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and active listening)

Ability to assess situations quickly, including reading non-verbal cues and changes in behavior

Comfortable working with children, adolescents, adults, and families

Ability to triage, prioritize, and respond effectively in high-pressure situations

Capable of working independently in the field with minimal supervision

Able to collaborate with community partners, referral sources, and care providers
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Willingness to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Ability to respond in community-based settings, including patient homes
-
Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, and engage in physical activity as needed

Must be able to safely participate in crisis intervention and physical restraint techniques when necessary
Preferred (Not Required)

Experience providing crisis intervention, case management, or direct patient care
-
Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPS) or willingness to obtain certification (training provided)
-
Experience working in behavioral health or emergency response environments
