VOA is currently seeking an Employment Coordinator to join our team in the Tulsa, OK area! Volunteers of America is one of the nation’s largest comprehensive human services organizations with 16,000 mission driven professionals, dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential.
Our Employment Coordinator helps individuals achieve meaningful, sustainable employment by addressing barriers and connecting them with workforce opportunities. This role involves assessing participants’ skills and job readiness, developing individualized employment plans, and providing hands on support with job search, resume building, and interview preparation.
What you Will Do
As the Employment Coordinator, you will build strong partnerships with employers, training providers, and community organizations to create pathways to employment and training opportunities. You will connect participants with supportive services such as childcare, transportation, and work related resources to promote long term success. The Employment Coordinator is skilled at collaborating with program partners and community stakeholders to ensure every participant receives the comprehensive support they gain meaningful employment and thrive in the workforce.
Empower Job Seekers
- Conduct one on one career assessments to understand each participant’s strengths, challenges, and readiness for employment.
- Cocreate individualized employment plans with clear, attainable goals that support long term career growth.
- Provide job search assistance, resume development, interview preparation, and ongoing employment coaching.
Connect People to Opportunity
- Link participants to essential supportive services such as childcare, transportation, uniforms, and training resources.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with employers, training providers, workforce agencies, and community organizations to expand employment pathways.
Coordinate Wraparound Support
- Collaborate regularly with internal staff, case managers, and referral agencies to ensure participants receive holistic, wraparound support.
- Communicate effectively across multiple partners to keep participants engaged and moving toward their goals.
QualificationsWhat You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field or equivalent education and professional experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in workforce development, case management, social services, or a related area.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, along with motivational interviewing or coaching experience.
- Excellent attention to detail, recordkeeping accuracy, and timely reporting habits.
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and current auto liability insurance with your name on the policy.
