Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Care Worker to support children in a residential setting. This role provides direct supervision, structure, and emotional support to youth with mental and behavioral health needs while helping maintain a safe, stable, and home-like environment.
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct supervision and behavior management of children

Ensure the safety, well-being, and daily care of youth
-
Respond to crises using approved intervention techniques
-
Utilize proper physical restraint techniques when necessary to prevent harm
-
Plan and facilitate group discussions and recreational activities
-
Transport children to school, medical appointments, and approved activities
-
Purchase food, plan menus, and prepare meals
-
Perform general housekeeping and laundry duties
-
Instruct and monitor personal hygiene and physical health
-
Dispense supplies such as clothing, toiletries, and linens
-
Monitor, document, and ensure availability of prescribed medications
-
Maintain accurate documentation and daily records
-
Attend required staff meetings and treatment team meetings
-
Complete all onboarding and required annual trainings
-
Participate in referral interviews, intakes, and fundraising activities as needed
-
Report facility or safety concerns promptly
-
Perform other duties as assigned

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required
-
Two (2) years of experience working with youth with mental/behavioral health needs (preferably in a residential setting) OR a Bachelor’s degree in a related mental health field

Valid Driver’s License

Background history free of offenses listed on the Affidavit of Good Moral Character
-
Ability to serve as a positive role model and mentor

Strong teamwork and communication skills
-
Ability to provide consistent structure and appropriate discipline
-
Ability to create and maintain a safe, supportive, and home-like environment
