POSITION SUMMARY:
This position provides professional diagnostic and short-term crisis services for children, adults, and DD populations with diverse needs. The primary responsibility is to screen service requests, gather necessary information, and determine appropriate interventions and treatments. Access Specialists support services across all populations, conduct outreach to referrals—including follow-up and coordination—and ensure accurate documentation in multiple scheduling and EMR platforms. This role requires a high degree of professional independence and reports to the Access Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Screen incoming calls for eligibility and service needs and refer clients when appropriate.
• Conduct client orientations, obtain and review consent forms, and support intake workflows.
• Support Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) operations by handling client registration, coordinating workflow, and routing cases for non-clinical triage.
• Provide emergency, crisis intervention, and/or walk-in consumer services as necessary.
• Collaborate and participate with other professional staff to ensure consumers are connected to the appropriate service programs or referred out as necessary.
• Coordinate with outside agencies, including hospital discharges, processing incoming referrals, and communicating with external partners regarding scheduling and follow-up.
• Store and retrieve all necessary documentation, including checking insurance information, completing registration, maintaining logs, and using EMR and other systems.
• Meet productivity and documentation standards per agency and program expectations, as applicable.
• Maintain productivity and documentation standards by meeting applicable agency, state, and county performance expectations, as applicable.
• Communicate with Access Manager on status of all priorities, crisis, and emergency screenings.
• Other tasks and responsibilities, as assigned.
QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field preferred but not required.

Minimum of 1 year of experience working with evaluation, treatment, and services delivered to children, adults, and their families.

Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a private vehicle for day-to-day job performance.

LLBSW/LBSW licensure preferred but not required.

QMHP/CMHP designation preferred but not required.
Salary: $19.50 per hour and up, based on relevant experience and qualifications.
