JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Manager of Operations provides tactical leadership and daily oversight for the post-retail lifecycle, ensuring the seamless execution of salvage processing, outlet retail standards, and logistics. Reporting to the Manager of Operations, this role focuses on the direct supervision of production workflows, fleet dispatch coordination, and 100% D.O.T. and safety compliance. By monitoring real-time production data through Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Business Intelligence (BI) tools, the Assistant Manager optimizes labor efficiency and salvage yields while maintaining a "fresh, full, and clean" outlet environment. This position is a "boots-on-theground" leader who balances administrative reporting with hands-on team development to drive revenue recovery and operational excellence.
DIRECT REPORTS: Outlet Shift Lead, Logistics Shift Lead, Material Handlers (CPC), INDIRECT REPORTS: Drivers, Material Handlers (Logistics), Forklift Drivers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in planning and adjusting daily truck routes to ensure the seamless movement of goods between the Centralized Processing Center (CPC) and all Goodwill Central Oklahoma (GCO) locations.
- Direct the daily sorting, grading, and pricing of donations within the CPC, acting as the primary supervisor for production line staff.
- Monitor and enforce pieces-per-hour (PPH) and yield targets for CPC team members to ensure daily production quotas are met.
- Oversee the safe operation of industrial processing equipment, including conveyors, textile balers, tippers, and recycling technology.
- Inspect processed inventory streams to ensure they meet retail quality standards or buyer specifications for salvage, maximizing resource recovery.
- Lead daily safety huddles in the CPC and warehouse to ensure all staff are properly trained and certified on equipment like forklifts and bailers.
- Conducts regular audits of CPC production logs and driver vehicle inspection reports to ensure 100% compliance with internal and D.O.T. standards.
- Partners with the Manager of Operations to track cost-per-touch and labor efficiency within the CPC against the monthly P&L
- The ability to see a plan through to completion, ensuring that daily production quotas and dispatch schedules are met despite equipment failures or staffing shortages.
- Expertly manages competing demands between the loading dock, the production line, and the outlet sales floor to ensure the most urgent tasks are handled first.
- Demonstrates a proactive approach to safety, identifying potential risks�such as improper forklift operation or blocked fire exits�and correcting them immediately.
- A commitment to the "letter of the law" regarding D.O.T. logs and OSHA standards, understanding that small clerical errors can lead to significant agency risks.
- The ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to a diverse workforce, from truck drivers to warehouse sorters, to improve efficiency and morale.
- Acts as a steady, professional presence when handling customer complaints in the Outlet or disputes on the warehouse floor.
- Regularly tracking "cost-per-touch" and "tons-per-load" to ensure the team is operating within the financial targets set by the Manager.
- The ability to navigate ERP and BI tools to pull raw data and translate it into a clear summary of the day�s successes and challenges.
- The ability to jump in and assist with "hands-on" work�like clearing a conveyor jam or assisting a customer�without losing sight of overall supervisory duties.
- Maintains a high level of energy and professional standards throughout a physically demanding work environment.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Operations Manager or executive leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three years of experience in a related field is required.
- Two years of experience in a supervisory role preferred.
- Must be 21 years old.
- Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and Car Insurance Verification, required.
- Class A CDL, required.
- Must pass MVR check and maintain a good driving record.
- Must be able to drive a standard (manual shift) truck.
- Must pass driver assessment.
- Bilingual a plus.
- Ability to speak, read and write the English language.
- Reliable transportation and communication, required.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to complete and maintain:
o Forklift certification and license o CPR and First Aid certifications
- Drives a truck in a safe and efficient manner.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Works in warehouse environment most of time and will be exposed to airborne particles such as dust, mold, dirt and pollen as well as extreme heat and cold.
- Must be available to work during operating hours as needed for business operations. Work schedule may include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and may vary from week to week as well as occasional overtime when approved by management.
- Moderate-high noise level.
- Works 40 hours per week or more when required.
