The Team
The Facilities team plays a crucial role in supporting all aspects of the Oregon Humane Society. Through cross departmental communications and interactions, we ensure a safe and healthy environment for staff, volunteers, donors, the general public, and any and all vendors who find themselves on our ever expanding campus.
The Position
Reporting to the Facilities Operations Manager, the Custodial and Floor Care Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily work performance of the OHS custodial staff, and ensuring the highest possible standard of cleanliness and safety. In addition to supervising the work of custodial staff, this position will be responsible for leading continuous quality improvement efforts, inspecting OHS facilities to ensure service, cleanliness, and safety standards are met, training and mentoring facilities employees, scheduling and staffing for maximum efficiency. This role is hands-on and works alongside the custodial team to complete nightly tasks. The effective management of custodial employees will be paramount to the success of this position. Leadership, problem-solving, and decisiveness are critical competencies for this role. All OHS staff members contribute to the stewardship of the organization’s mission and are expected to stay current on and understand issues related to animal welfare and OHS programs.
The proposed schedule for this role is 6pm - 2:30am.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops RFPs, gathers quotes, and coordinates timely and accurate service completion with third parties. Works with vendors to resolve problems and respond to internal suggestions for improvements and enhancements. Oversees vendors (such as floor services) to ensure the achievement of productivity and quality service standards.

This position interacts and collaborates will all levels of the organization, including OHS staff, executive team members, donors, general-public, external vendors, volunteers, and supporters. Contact and communication is carried out through face-to-face, telephone and digital interactions. Excellent customer service skills are essential to success. Communication must be clear, understandable, professional and respectful in all circumstances.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift, move, restrain, guide, or manage an animal weighing up to 150 lbs. on a leash on an occasional basis.
