WORKPLACE GBVH RIGHTS TRAINING & TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM MANAGER

Futures Without Violence (FUTURES) is a national non-profit social change organization that works to end gender-based violence against children, youth, and adults around the world. We’re a team of educators, strategists, fundraisers, trainers and grassroots organizers who develop programs that can change social norms, advance policy, and mobilize people to prevent violence against women and children.
PROGRAM & POSITION
The Workplace GBVH Rights Training and Technical Assistance Program Manager (Program Manager) will provide programmatic support for two of the Workplace and Economic Justice Department’s training and technical assistance projects, the National Resource Center: Workplaces Respond to Domestic and Sexual Violence project (Workplaces Respond) and its new Advancing Safety through Employment Rights Project. Workplaces Respond is the nation’s only resource center solely dedicated to engaging employers to address the impacts domestic violence, sexual violence and harassment, and stalking has on workers and the workplace. Workplaces Respond provides free resources, consultation, and training curricula to prevent and respond to the impacts of domestic and dating violence, sexual violence and harassment, and stalking in the world of work through culture change aimed at eradicating root causes and risk factors and promoting safety, equity, and trauma-informed workplace policy and practice. FUTURES new Advancing Safety through Employment Rights Project will develop and implement trainings, technical assistance, and practical tools to build capacity of attorneys and advocates to assist survivors – particularly survivors with disabilities, survivors who are Deaf, and/or LGBTQIA+ survivors – with the unique challenges they face accessing and utilizing their employment protections thus increasing their safety and security.
The Program Manager will work on these exciting, constantly evolving, and cutting-edge projects to help lift up survivor and worker voices, advance model workplace policies and practices, and build the capacity of employers and employees to change social and cultural norms around work in order to promote greater safety, wellbeing, and economic and racial justice in the workplace, especially for Black and Brown women, LGBTQ individuals, and immigrant and low-paid workers. This role will require one or two travel trips per year.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop content for training curricula, best practice guides and resources, factsheets, web assets, and other tools to support the development and implementation of improved policies and responses to advance survivor safety and support in the workplace;
- Provide technical assistance (TA) (including basic information requests, consultation and strategy development, referrals, and resource sharing) to:
- federal, state, and local governmental agencies; employers; labor organizations; human resource professionals; and workers committed to addressing domestic and sexual violence in the workplace;
- legal aid attorneys and victim advocates on survivors’ workplaces rights including sick and safe leave, anti-discrimination laws, and unemployment insurance;
- Lead and conduct in-person and web-based peer-learning opportunities and trainings for legal aid attorneys and victim advocates;
- Build and coordinate relationships with other OVW funded training and technical assistance providers, employers, similarly aligned organizations, and unions/worker centers;
- Represent FUTURES at relevant stakeholder meetings, conferences, and coalitions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education: J.D, and a minimum of 8 years of related work experience;
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: worker’s rights; human resource management, industrial/employment relations; labor organizing; employer DEIA programs;
- Demonstrated skills in building and fostering client relations, solving complex problems, developing educational tools, and training facilitation;
- Highly creative, entrepreneurial, and detail-oriented professional who works as successfully independently as well as part of a multicultural team of dedicated professionals;
- Commitment to social justice causes with an emphasis on preventing and ending domestic and sexual violence and harassment, and promoting racial and gender justice and equity (in the workplace preferred).
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Flexibility, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize competing
- Fluency in Spanish preferred.
- Superior attention to detail and command of contemporary computer skills including Microsoft Office suite, Zoom meeting and other web-based meeting platforms and/or customer-relationship management (CRM) systems.

This is a full-time, exempt, grant funded position. is $97,500/year. This salary is based on a standardized compensation structure that is transparent across the organization. Please note that the salary is non-negotiable and like all positions at FUTURES, eligible for step increases as part of our commitment to thriving wages for all staff.
