The Museum of Modern Art is currently accepting applications for a Development Associate, Individual Philanthropy to support the planning and execution of all donor stewardship and cultivation events and communications for the Individual Philanthropy team under the direction of the Associate Director, Individual Philanthropy.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Works with the Associate Director and Individual Philanthropy team to determine and secure all event dates, topics, speakers, and locations. Updates the Museum’s master calendar accordingly.
- Oversees event logistics from start to finish, including but not limited to invitation creation and coordination, guest list management, preparation and debrief meetings, vendor contracts, invoicing, budget maintenance, and related correspondence.
- Coordinates with other Museum departments, internal and external vendors, and staff as needed.
- Liaises with the Individual Philanthropy team members, Membership and Special Event departments to ensure major gifts donors and prospects are included in all museum events as needed.
- Works with team members to strategize and coordinate donor cultivation and stewardship activities, including seasonal mailings, involvement with art fairs, collection visits, behind the scenes tours, weekly newsletters and more.
- Records and updates event details in the donor database.
- Answers the main phone line, monitors department email accounts and field inquiries in a positive and timely manner.
- Assists with other major gift projects, administrative tasks, and miscellaneous office duties as necessary, including data entry and mailings.
- Performs any other duties reasonably related to the functions described above.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and three or more years experience in administrative or event coordination roles ideally in a Development Office and/or cultural institution or equivalent.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, professional and polished presentation.
- Strong organizational and computing skills.
- Comfortable interacting with Museum donors in writing, by phone, and in person.
- Must work well independently and collaboratively.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask a must.
- Experience with CRM systems a plus, including Salesforce.
- Strong interest in modern and contemporary art desirable.
- Ability/willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
Salary: The salary for this position is $60,621 per annum
