Yellowstone Forever (YF) is the official nonprofit partner of Yellowstone National Park. Our mission is to protect, preserve, and enhance Yellowstone National Park through education and philanthropy. YF connects people to Yellowstone through outstanding visitor experiences and educational programs and translates those experiences into lifelong support of the park and philanthropic investment in its future. Our educational programming and products help people enhance their understanding and appreciation of the wildlife, natural wonders, and cultural history of the park. YF’s operations include Park Stores in and around Yellowstone; the Yellowstone Forever Institute, which offers in-depth educational programing for people of all ages; and a supporter program which raises funds for priority park projects.
The Manager, Corporate Partnerships, is a mission-critical role serving as the key steward for a rich portfolio of current and prospective corporate, marketing, institutional and external stakeholders/partners in support of Yellowstone National Park. This position will provide leadership, strategy, and counsel to the CDO for attracting resources for institutional priorities as defined by YNP staff and the YF strategic plan. This position is responsible for the comprehensive management and execution of the corporate partnerships’ program with Yellowstone Forever. The Manager, Corporate Partnerships develops and manages relationships with corporate partners that offer corporate foundation grants and/or in-kind support and actively seeks and develops corporate partnership and cause related marketing relationships that result in visibility and revenue. This position is an opportunity for a highly motivated development professional to build and manage a portfolio of corporate donors capable of making five and six-figure gifts, as well as to help Yellowstone Forever grow its corporate giving program toward the seven-figure range. The ability to achieve results through relationship management is essential. Success in this position requires strong interpersonal skills, entrepreneurship, and business acumen.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serves as the primary contact for corporate partners and the partner’s liaison to YNP;
- Engages current corporate partners through cash grants, in-kind support, and/or marketing relationships;
- Oversees and maintains strategic institutional relationships that grow and diversify Yellowstone Forever revenue streams, including YNP, NPS and other government agency relationships, including but not limited to USFS, National Park Foundation, other friend groups, NGOs, and park concessionaire partners;
- Actively seeks new corporate and strategic partners across all Yellowstone Forever departments;
- Secure $750,000 of corporate gifts annually;
- Develops a corporate partner strategy that retains and engages current partners and recruits new partners;
- Maintain, build and grow sustainable unrestricted revenue through innovative cause-related corporate partnerships working towards an initial goal of $250,000 annually
- Understand priority needs for the park which may be met through corporate and other external strategic partners or alliances;
- Staff liaison to the Corporate Committee (Board) to identify connections in the corporate world (circles of influence) that would be helpful to Yellowstone and follow up on those connections;
- Create and execute a corporate recognition and stewardship program working closely with the appropriate development staff to include:
- Plan trips to Yellowstone for corporate partners who wish to see impact of their investment; working in partnership with the Manager, Donor Relations and Experience
- Work with Manager, Donor Relations and Experience to create annual in-park corporate events;
- Travel to partners’ events to ensure Yellowstone representation;
- Coordinate with Marketing & Communications to ensure all marketing, promotional, and advertising approvals between corporate partners and appropriate designates. Oversight of the writing of copy necessary for external publications, including newsletters, e-blasts, Annual Reports and internally, reports and acknowledgment of gifts;
- Develop and track of all corporate partner agreements to guarantee fulfillment including assurance that corporate partner benefits and reporting requirements are met and that all corporate partner records are organized and up to date;
- Ensure all corporate partner agreements are up to industry standards and adhere to NPS and IRS guidelines for corporate nonprofit activities
- Represent Yellowstone Forever and its mission accurately and positively;
- Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment with YF employees, volunteers, and partners;
- Other tasks as assigned by Chief Development Officer.
Basic Qualifications:
- Five or more years of professional-level experience successfully developing corporate funding sponsorships, and cause-related vehicles for a nonprofit organization;
- Deadline-driven with the ability to consistently follow-up and work effectively to meet short- and long-term deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Proven ability to communicate with executive-level corporate representatives;
- Ability to understand the needs and interests of corporate donors and prospects to develop and strengthen relationships between them and Yellowstone Forever;
- Ability to represent Yellowstone Forever’s interests to corporate partners and prospects;
- Ability to externally promote a positive image of Yellowstone Forever;
- Must be a team player, possess a can-do attitude and excellent work ethic;
- Ability to travel;
- Knowledge, dedication, and passion for the preservation of Yellowstone National Park;
- This position involves driving YF vehicles, therefore applicants must hold and maintain a valid US driver’s license, and maintain a favorable driving record for insurance purposes;
- A satisfactory criminal background check are conditions of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ten years of corporate experience a plus;
- Knowledge of Yellowstone National Park;
- Bachelor’s Degree in nonprofit management or marketing;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Raiser’s Edge preferred.
