The Philanthropy Officer (PO) is primarily responsible for raising major philanthropic gifts to fund College Success Foundation (CSF) programs and operations. In addition, the PO will support CSF's overall fundraising strategy.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects with the capacity to make gifts of $10,000+.
- Qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors with emphasis on five and six figure gifts.
- Work with the Director of Development, Individual Giving Manager and Senior Philanthropy Officer to maintain a pipeline of potential major donors.
- Represent CSF at networking (business and social) events in the community to expand CSF's potential donor base.
- Conduct a minimum of 7 face to face meetings every month with prospective donors. Arrange donor/CSF leadership meetings as appropriate to secure gift commitments.
- Maintain accurate records of all secured gifts and donor contacts in Salesforce. Produce activity reports as needed.
- Engage donors and donor prospects through tools such as visits to CSF program sites, meetings with CSF executives/board members, and attendance at special events. The goal of these interactions will be to bring donors/prospects closer to CSF in order to retain or increase their giving.
- Assist the Director of Development in increasing overall giving to CSF.
- While major gift procurement is the primary role of the PO, it is also important for the PO to participate as an active team member of the Development Team to support general team objectives and goals.
