The Role:
Work in tandem with the Foundations' president, regional director of major gifts, major gift officers and ministry level executive director foundation leaders to begin planning for a statewide fundraising campaign for Providence Oregon. Envision big ideas and cases for giving in the region overall, Centers of Excellence, and within each of the 10 foundations.
What You'll Do:
Qualify and cultivate new donors for the Providence Foundations at all levels and in all areas, with especial emphasis on principal gift capacity ($1M+) prospects to build a solid and long-term individual prospect pipeline.
Participate in strategy sessions for principal gift and major gift prospects; may serve as facilitator of strategy meetings to include Foundations leadership and development staff.
At the behest of the President, oversee the establishment of over-arching policies and procedures to maximize ROI for the Foundations.
Participate in metrics and goals discussions with individual Foundations and development officers to ensure equity, stretch performance and viability.
Act as point for various special projects, e.g. feasibility study, grateful patient program, stewardship, gift societies and gift acknowledgment.
Work alongside Foundations staff to build relationships with medical staff, executive leadership, nursing staff and Foundation ministry boards. Train staff in the culture of philanthropy and the importance of grateful patient fundraising.
Serve as fundraiser for one or more fundraising priority areas, either on an interim basis or long-term, as determined by the President and in concert with the Regional Director of Major Gifts. Rotate areas as needed and appropriate.
Serve as a mentor and coach as needed and requested to any development officer.
As needed, write talking points, correspondence, agendas or opinions for the President.
Participate in professional development opportunities to represent the Providence Foundations.

A clear demonstration of a strong fundraising skill set, with the ability to speak to a deep and wide variety of topics and/or call upon resources to research and present solutions to fundraising problems.
Exemplary communication skills, including writing, oral/presentation and dialog/meeting facilitation.
Driven to achieve, learn and establish high expectations.
Understands the value of data analysis as a key tool in decision making.
The ability to teach and mentor fundraising within the Providence Foundations and in the larger development community to build the Providence brand and learn about fundraising professionalism, trends, and new tools.
Available as needed throughout the week to respond and problem-solve as well as attend Providence events and meetings.

The full pay range is listed in accordance with applicable law. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, organizational compensation alignment, and the approved hiring department budget for the position. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation and benefits.
At Providence we believe in the importance of human connection and the impact of in-person collaboration towards team cohesion and caregiver engagement. Further, we want our leaders to live in or near the communities we serve. Therefore, leaders applying for this role will be required to work a hybrid schedule, which consists of three days onsite, two days remote and live within a reasonable commuting distance to the ministry or service area they support and lead.
