Position Summary:
The Philanthropy Officer (Philanthropy Specialist) plays a pivotal role within the Philanthropy Department. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, this individual is instrumental in driving the success of our fundraising efforts and works closely with every member of the Philanthropy Team. The Officer's responsibilities encompass a diverse range of tasks, including volunteer management, event planning and execution, and managing digital fundraising efforts for San Ysidro Health. Additionally, the role helps to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s donor database.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Play a key role in overall fundraising goals with ownership of digital strategies designed to acquire, engage, and retain digital donors through online platforms
- Communicate and collaborate with the External Affairs Team regularly, to ensure consistency and collaboration of San Ysidro Health’s digital strategies across departments
- Drive the creation of donor-centered content and creative Online Giving Strategy
- Recruit, coordinate, and manage volunteers from various sources, cultivating a positive volunteer culture and ensuring effective event coverage.
- Collaborate on the planning and execution of impactful special events, fundraising activities, and community outreach initiatives. This includes overseeing logistics, budget monitoring, and promotional efforts.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records within our database, providing essential support for effective donor relationship management.
- Serve as an active member of the Philanthropy Team, contributing to goal setting, revenue generation, and the refinement of processes and procedures
- Collaborate closely with other members of the Philanthropy Team and throughout the organization to ensure we are utilizing San Ysidro resources as effectively as possible to cultivate, steward, and solicit support.
- Become a San Ysidro Health “expert” and excel in telling our story. Act as a spokesperson for the organization as needed to bring in funding, volunteers, etc. Work closely with various parts of the organization to organize site visits and bring our work to life for donors and prospective supporters.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

- Experience working with platforms and tools including Instagram, Facebook, Mailchimp, Google Suite, MS Word, Excel
- Experience working with DonorPerfect or other CRMs
- Preferably bilingual (Spanish/English)
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
At least 3 years of demonstrated expertise in volunteer management, event coordination, digital fundraising, or related roles within the nonprofit sector or event planning industry.Existing knowledge of digital platforms such as Donor Perfect, Google Analytics, Facebook/Instagram, and more; as well as the confidence to learn new platforms and processes quickly.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Demonstrable skills in creating reports, working in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.), and conveying meaningful insights to relevant stakeholders
Universal Requirements:
