The Opportunity
You will be an integral member of CZI’s Legal & Grants team. This is a generalist role, providing legal operations support across a variety of programs, supporting both the infrastructure and culture of the Legal & Grants team and the org as a whole. You will be responsible for day-to-day law firm billing, managing questions submitted to our legal help center portal, and helping with document management. You will be integral in supporting team engagement from onboarding of new team members to helping organize learning & development opportunities.
We are looking for someone who is mission-oriented, has acute attention to detail, and enthusiasm for working on a variety of projects. We are open to different backgrounds, which may include paralegal, operations, finance, or other similar backgrounds. This role will report to the Legal Operations Manager on the “EEO Team,” the Employment Law, Ethics & Business Conduct, and Legal Operations Team. We can’t wait to hear from you!
What You'll Do
- Help run Legal Operations for the Legal & Grants team
- Manage day-to-day billing from law firm vendors
- Respond to day-to-day inquiries from CZIers through our legal help center portal
- Maintain the team’s knowledge management systems
- Support team training and learning programs
- Generate and champion team engagement ideas
- Work across the Legal & Grants team on special projects and functions
What You'll Bring
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience in coordinating projects (including projects with overlapping timeframes), problem-solving independently, and consistently completing tasks on a timely basis
- Demonstrated interest to take the initiative to make continuous process improvements
- Experience and desire to work with technology and tools; experience with GoogleSuite, JIRA, Salesforce, Confluence, DocuSign, SimpleLegal a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to partner effectively and collaboratively both internally and externally to CZI
- History of demonstrating good judgment and a high degree of integrity
- Lots of curiosity, an interest to learn, proactive, and adaptable to change
Compensation
The Redwood City, CA base pay range for this role is [$89,000 - $134,000]. New hires are typically hired into the lower portion of the range, enabling employee growth in the range over time. Actual placement in range is based on job-related skills and experience, as evaluated throughout the interview process. Pay ranges outside Redwood City are adjusted based on cost of labor in each respective geographical market.
