Summary: The Social Worker at the Healthy Brain Network will be responsible for coordinating and contributing to no-cost diagnostic evaluations conducted for the Healthy Brain Network (HBN), an exciting initiative aimed at collecting imaging, genetic, and phenotypic data from 10,000 children and adolescents. The comprehensive psychological evaluations can provide diagnosis and support IEP advocacy and include measures of cognition, executive functioning, academic achievement, language and social and emotional functioning. The Social Worker will be primarily responsible for completing detailed psycho-social histories, conducting diagnostic mental health assessments and assisting families with referrals. The Social Worker will be interfacing directly with children, adolescents, and families at one of our HBN diagnostic centers (located in Harlem). Reporting to the Social Work Supervisor, this is an exempt, full-time position located at our Harlem location. The position will be a hybrid of work from home and in office work. Responsibilities: - Conduct intake interviews with parents to obtain background history for the psychological evaluation
- Maintain clear and concise participant reports and records (both paper and electronic records)
- Assist in conducting diagnostic and/or clinical assessments including:
- Semi-Structured Psychiatric Diagnostic Interview (KSADS)
- Academic and Language Testing (no prior experience necessary)
- Assist with development of feedback reports and provide/participate in clinical feedback sessions with participants and parents including referrals and treatment recommendations (school-based treatment recommendations are provided)
- Conducting safety assessments with regard to suicidality and abuse
- Participate in weekly case conferences to present cases and consult with multi-disciplinary team including psychiatrists, school psychologists, speech pathologist, clinical psychologist, neuropsychologists
- Assist in the establishment of the HBN referral network with outside agencies, providers, and community resources

Qualifications: Education: - Masters Degree, or higher, in Social Work
- Minimum 1 year experience required
- New graduates will be considered with relevant internship experience
Experience: - Strong writing skills
- Understanding of DSM-V diagnostic procedures
- Crisis management skills
- Ability to work effectively with adolescents, families, professionals, and other personnel from a wide range of backgrounds
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with a wide range of individuals/groups
- Teamwork ethic; positive, flexible attitude; ability to take complete ownership of responsibilities
- Proficiency in a second language a plus
